man you are SO LUCKY! I would love to take dive classes and one day go diving to some reef! However, this body would not dive well...would sink straight to the bottom;D!:eek:

I am very lucky to have learned to dive and be certified in Fiji.

I will have to make due with an el cheapo underwater camera. But I have seen some nice pics taken with those.

Those only work up to a certain depth (unless they've improved since I last used one). I always found that when I tried to take pictures while diving/snorkelling, I missed out on too much stuff so now, I just enjoy the scenery and leave the camera at home :)

Either way, have fun and be careful!

I did see some nice elkhorn coral, but they were in the sanctuary.

A dive buddy had a waterproof camera in a housing. She took several pics, so once she sends me the pics, I will post away.

I had a blast diving. we even saw an unexploded bomb from WW2. There also was a sunken PT boat.

Dude. Where you heading to... I'm in Trinidad and Tobago...Tobago especially has a lot of good dive sites...
EDIT: Opps... I must have missed this thread... Didn't realize that you had already gone and returned.

Hi Horkn, where did you dive? In a few weeks I will be in the Grand Caymans diving with the Mrs. I use an aging DC500 for pic’s and shoot a HD Sony video to show the land folks what its like :)

Annick – the particulate you see when snorkeling dissipates somewhat at depth and the pictures are much clearer. My DC500 (3 year old tech now) uses “shark mode” which is an ultra fast shutter mode eliminating the particulate blur and reflections.

Oh man…now I got diving on the brain and need to wait till the end of the month….
