Off for a weekend of diving and fun in the Caribbean

Crimson, I dove Desecheo Island off of Puerto Rico's west coast, 12 miles off of Rincon.


This area of PR is known as one of the most underrated dive areas in all the caribbean. I see why after the dives I did.

The US navy used to use this island as a target for the big guns, and a sunken PT boat, and a few unexploded bombs are underwater, It is an ancient volcanic island, so there are a lot of caves.

Now I am waiting for my dive buddy to email me the pics she shot with her digi cam in a housing.

 

hey, at least you would need less weights then.

I could have used an extra weight on my second dive there. The current got pretty crazy and I had to fight a bit to stay down near the end of the dive.

I am a tad PO's that the divemaster did not give me an extra 3 lb weight when he saw me trying to purge air from my BC that was non existent.

Oh well, I logged it in my dive log that I need 15 lbs of weight, and that 12 is not enough.
