    just throwing this out there that guy had no idea what he was doing with that tank lol. But yeah I would like some more opinions because if I have learned anything so far its listen to as man people as u can because everyone has a different opinion. also do I have to hang that light because I cant do that in a dorm

    You can mount however you'd like. There are many ways to hang the light, i would say very few hang them from the ceiling. Do a search and you'll find a lot of examples of what people have done. I didn't realize that you are spending a couple hundred bucks on that light - for that price its really a no brainer to go with something else. That light is not even in the same ballpark as some of the legit LED units you can get in that price range. Would be a big mistake to buy that light.

    what are some other options in that price range below 190 because thats my cap. And honestly those lights look too bright to me

    Your best option is the reef breeders light. Another good option is an LED made by Wingo or Taotronics on eBay. By too bright I assume you mean too blue/purple. If you actually mean too bright, then you should probably go with a fish-only tank because good lights (the kind you need for anemones and coral) are all bright.

    That said, the reef breeders light can be customized with a higher ratio of white LEDs - that one has primarily blue LED's in it. Just specify in your order that you want a whiter mix.
