I bought my new 90 gallon with corner overflow months ago, I leak tested the tank and overflow separately and everything was fine.

Today I added some water to the overflow to check that the bulkheads were not leaking and I noticed a leak from the bottom of the overflow into the tank. Probably no more than a drop of water in a minute or two.

Is this something I should try to seal up or should I not worry about it being so minor.

    Crap, and Help !!!:worried2:

try to seal it up, even a drop every few minutes builds up more and more until you have a giant watermark on your floor

Just to be clear, it is leaking from the corner overflow into the tank, the tank itself is not leaking.

ya..you will have to undo the bulkhead. make sure the bulkhead seal is on the inside of the tank on CLEANED glass with the ridged face(if the seal has it) on the glass. you can use some sealant in a pinch.

I agree. Even at that slow rate during a power outage you could end up with a lot of water on the floor.

I would say that's a non-issue, as the water pressure will be roughly equal on both sides, meaning the leak won't continue to enlarge.

Having a leak is disconcerting though, and makes you wonder if there are leaks anywhere else more "critical".

The problem though is that during a power outage the overflow is going to drain and the tank will continue to leak into the overflow and down to the sump. It may be slow enough that you could keep taking cups of water out of the sump and putting them in the display, but I would just fix the problem for the peace of mind.

    That is a good point.

You are right though, if it were me, I'd fix it for peace of mind, and probably double check the rest of the tank.
