    Just to be clear, it is not the bulkhead, the leak is at the bottom seal from the over to the tank. Still a bead of silcone cant hurt.

    First off, a drop of water is about .05 ml. If you're losing a drop per second, that's 3 ml per minute, 180 ml per hour, 4320 ml per day. So that's about a gallon and a quarter per day. It would take one heck of a long power outage before you'd have to even take a bucket from your sump and dump it in the tank.

    With that said, you could always drop a bead of sealant around the outside of the overflow to slow it even more since that is an easy thing to do. I wouldn't worry about doing more than that.

    I just reread your message and it was not a drop per second. But on the order of one per minute. Not an issue.

    If its an internal overflow box and the leak is between the overflow box and the display its not an issue. You will have a standpipe and the water will balance between the display and overflow in a power outage.
