:confused: I have had my GSP for at least 2 months, it opened the same day I brought it home. Has bloomed every day since, and now zipped close. All my perams look great, but I don't have one for Mag. Any help or ecouragement would be of great help.

    Thanks,
    Sue

No worries, I've had mine closed for up to a week or more. Hasn't happened in about a year, but, it has happened.

This happens with mine from time to time as well. Sometimes it's the result of a random janitor going over it at night, sometimes seems to be a growth thing- at one point they all stayed closed for a few days, then released what looked like "eggs" (little green, round bubbles). They opened up nicely after with a lot of new growth on the rock.

Just watch out for obvious die off, they are probably fine.

Sometimes mine just closes for a few days and then it opens back up happy!

If it's been open and growing for a while, it's probably just taking a little break. I'd be surprised if it doesn't open soon.

Although, it could be detritus, so give it a little extra water flow to clean it off.

What causes this is something has settled on it or some algae may have gotten a toe hold look it over really well and take a old soft tooth brush and brush it off if its no reopened in another day . They get irritated and stay closed to may days they won't come back. Check water flows also.
