Disaster!! My "invert safe" red head elongate pseudo is attacking my nassarius snails!! He's going by and knocking them off the glass and then trying to eat them out of the shell. Is this normal behavior? How can I try to curb this behavior? Like make sure he eats a lot....

I do not like witnessing murder!!

sorry to hear, the the elongate pseudo is a hawfish right? If so i think hawks are known to sometimes eat shrimp, at least the flame, not sure about yours.

No, the highfin perchlet is the guy that acts like a hawkfish (though he's actually an anthias). But my pseudo never even noticed the snails I had before, so I didn't think it would be a problem.

    It's upsetting to watch! lol

you think you could get a picture of this happening in the act....i'm kind of interested to see this and yet sad that your nassarius snails are taking a beating. I personally have those snails as well and think they are pretty cool

I don't know. I could try it. He definitely needs a chill pill. I did scold him and turn off the light! I'm waiting to see if that helps to calm him down.

Such a weirdo! He's never shown any aggression or interest, really, in anything in the tank. Hopefully he'll get a grip and stop. The poor snail was so scared!!

So he likes escargot??? LOL! Sorry to hear about this. Try the veggie clip and keep him fed, maybe he won't bother them after they have been in for a little while. Your CUC is new right? Maybe he just thinks you provided him with a nice meal!

Haha that's right. He is a high-class fish! :hat: That's not quite a top hat, but it works. lol

I'll give him a big meal tonight. He is such a pig! When he's done eating he always looks like he's about to birth an elephant!

The snails he attacked are still hiding in their shells (or they are dead). Plus, I saw my clown pull a reeeeally tiny dwarf cerith off the wall and throw him down. I think I have mean fish!! ;)

If they are dead, then you want him to take care of it for you. A dead snail can really, really stink!

LOL - about mean fish! I have a diamond goby that attacks the front glass of the tank if I stand in front of it wearing a red shirt.
