I have a ground probe and well, I just had that tingly feeling in a cut I have on my finger. I dipped my finger in again, to see if I really felt it and yep I did. The probe is submerged in the sump, so why am I still feeling it? Yes the other end is screwed to the wall plate. :-/

it might just be the feeling of saltwater on your cut, i don't know if your cut would be more sensitive to electricity then the rest of you, i guess you could try sticking you tongue in the water, because your tongue is more conductive and sensitive atleast i think so( if you ever touch a watch battery to you tongue you will understand).

Cuts are more sensitive because they expose nerve endings that would otherwise not be so close to the surface of the skin. Your tongue is no more conductive than any other part of your body, although since it's wet, covered with tasebuds, and highly vascularized, it's more sensitive to electricity. :)

Linda, take the ground probe out and check again with your finger for the sensation of shock. Do you have a DMM? (Multimeter, or just a voltmeter?)

Save your tongue for food. )

multi, Yes I will check it again. I added my old 36" pc's to the fuge to get my chaeto to grow, it's been shrinking since I got it and everything else is perfect...but anyway....I had a plant light on it....yes I know, don't yell at me  I will check it next time I g2p. I bet it's those old lights, the bulbs were leaking when I had them on the 55, but the probe stopped the tinglies...

Hey Sparky, It sounds like I've got the same ground probe as you. Would this not work? putting it under the plate cover? thread it onto the screw, then screw the cover on? direct contact with the outlet??

You'd be better off with the eye outside of the receptacle coverplate. The receptacle is designed such that the screw will make the contact. Thing is, you have to make sure the screw is grounded.

Use a continuity meter. Put one lead on the screw, or in the screw hole; and the other lead in the 3rd hole in the receptacle (ground). You should have continuity. If not, let me know and I'll tell you how to proceed.

I checked yes I do(continuity), I checked and it(water to ground) was .14 to begin with then I unplugged one thing at a time, old lights dropped it to .10 then pump to .08, then PC lights on it(came with it) .06-07 and then Poly reactor thing it went down to .04. I stopped there...nuff said, let's get back to what you'll tell me LOL I take VERY good direction! Oh yeah it is on the outside I was just questioning it.
