    Any external skmmer will still need a sump along side of it. Sounds like you still need to stick with an HOB. Which I know I read that the Octopus HOB Skimmers work very well. Think a few people here have them.

    my prizm is about 5 yrs old and still running strong.its on a 55gallon with a 29 gallon sump.before that it was on a 29 gallon display i had to adjust it alot until i added the sump and then it quieted down and stayed steady.you might be pushing it with a 65 gallon but idk.

    Your probably right! Thats why I was thinking of upgrading 8) Anyway, purchased a Aqua C Remora this morning after looking around for a while - I'll let you know what I think once it breaks in.
