    1 major problem with this method in this particular situation is the tank is 3gallons only!

    I do drip method in a big bucket BUT I have a 135g tank so it is a little different. I check the SG before I do it to see how long it will need to drip but I usually have the drip going fairly fast. If my SG is where the water that the fish is in, then I just add the fish to the tank (after letting temp acclimate) If not then I drip

    I do also pick the fish up in my hand....though this is not a problem in this situation...how many times have you netted your tang, etc and have a fin get caught (or barb) in the net. That is by far very stressful on them
