Ok, I need help with an algea problem

    I keep the lights on for about 10-12 hours a day and probably feed more that I should.

    Maybe it's the lighting? Because algae falls under the plant category in "encourages plant growth" :D

    If you have room in your tank for it you could add a Molly. They will clean the tank up pretty good. Haven't heard of anyone else doing this but our LFS and us. We had an algae problem in one of our tanks and decided to try it out after seeing them pick at algae in one of their tanks. It ate the algae off the plants, other decorations, and the rocks on the bottom. That tank was pretty much spotless in about a week, and its a puffer tank, which are very messy eaters, lol.

    i was lucky I had the world's greates pleco and cory cat combo. Tank was spotless..Probably can't do that with a planted tank though...

    GO with the bristlenose plecostumus they will not eat or get on plants and will not grow over 4 inches and will work 24/7 in a clean environment....the best cleaners available for freshwater...but when they get grown they are kinda ugly...they have whisker growng around their mouths....
