    the little white squairs it comes in a sheet about 3feet by 1 1/2feet from home depot dose not affect lighting much it lowers it a bit but it is mostly open so you dont loose much and you get plenty of fresh air over the water. since it is not traped under a solid lid. just run down to homedepot and check it out.

    I took my glass top off a month ago and have only had 1 death. Firefish jumped out and stuck on the wall. Came home and there he was all dried out*tear*. Only thing I worried about was dust. So I got a hepa filter for my room to help cut down on the dust getting into the tank
