    what are you planning to keep, that fixture will be a beast. Although with a 65g being 24 inches tall, I'd lean towards mh, they are cheap and you'll be able to grow anything. Led is another choice but a lot more $.

    I want to have coral eventually. My only concern with mh is the heat...

    IMHO,

    another concern should be light output/time.

    Going with LED's, is often cheaper and will pay for itself in 2-3 yrs vs. new bulb costs.

    There are some very inexpensive set ups, and some with all the bells and wistles, for a LOT of money.

    I'm happy with mine. I'd recommend mine, but the newer - dual dimmer version.
    For the price, you'll save and can't go wrong.
    2 of them are over my 6ft 125, and it's working well on my mixed reef DT.
