    Matt,

How do you use tags and what are they for? I'm very familiar with vBulletin but this is something I've never seen before.

    Glad you asked. :)
I just got this going last night.

Tags aka keywords can be used when you start a new post. Under the box for the title is a box for tags.

Let's take my posts on some of the new aquariums out there as an example. Some of the tags I used there were 'aquarium,' the manufactuer and the tank name.

Now when you go to the tag page (link in top navbar):
    http://www.3reef.com/forums/tags/

You will see my tags and when you click on say.. 'aquarium' you will see all my aquarium posts. 8)

This is a great way sort and show threads on different subjects.

You will find tags above threads, at the top of forums and in the search dropdown too.

As we add more tags, searching this way will be very effective.

This is part of a Web 2.0 push I am doing around here. Youtube is a place that uses tags as well.

Stay tuned for more! AND TAG, TAG, TAG! :)

    OK

It makes sense now. In the "Meet me" forum and "The Bucket" forum there are no tag options but in the other forums, there are. Since my thread was in the Bucket, I didn't see that option.

It actually sounds like a pretty cool idea.

    Thanks for adding this feature.

Yeah, I excluded some forums that I thought were off topic.

    Glad you like it!
