not good enough in this hobby, just ask others that have had a rock take out the front glass and the entire system is on the floor

the glass is 1/2" thick...and when the rocks fall they usually just land in the front and never even touch the glass....I have room in front and in the back for swimming room and flow

Kevin, keep this in mind though what if the rocks slide and hit a fish or expensive coral that you have in your tank. I wanted to go higher in my 120, with 1/2 inch glass as well but took into consideration what may happen will happen in the end. The aquascape does look awesome I am not knocking it, just make sure it totally secure. I am attached (like some are to other pets) to my fish and corals and want them safe first and foremost. Its not just a matter of making sure it does not hit the glass. To me if a coral was killed or a fish was hurt it's the same as a flood due to glass breaking.

You have a beautiful aquarium. Much nicer than mine. But you did ask for my opinion, and I personally don't like "walls of rock" so to speak. I enjoy slopes and arches and tables and caves. And If you ever do re-arrange your rock, PLEASE epoxy them together or tie them together or stack them with acrylic rods or SOMETHING! It just breaks our hearts and makes us double check our systems every time we hear about someones tank that exploded all over their floor due to a curious goby or snail or hermit crab that decided to try cosmic bowling with live rock. With the amount of time and money you put into your system, It can all end with tears if you don't secure your rock. There's my $.02
    Anyways, nice tank. ;)

Hey, I just caught the reef fever too, just switched a week ago. I also have to make a couple fish changes(Lunare wrasse). Your tank looks way better than mine though.

One thing I try to do and dont know if anyone else does it, but when I do water changes I take a fair amount out of my dt and when I do I dont want any corals being out of the water when I take drain some water out. I put a few marks on some tape and try not to build above that level. Find out how much your level goes down and then build up to there. I have some corals that sit about 1/4" below the surface when I do water changes. Just an idea that works for me.

+1 on comments on making sure its secure , one rock slides and the rest follow it

aesthetically , I like the effect you have created , just make 100% certain that what you placed , stays where you placed it, until you decide to move it and not before.

I have moved some things and made sure its not going anywhere...and now i am confident that the rocks are not gonna go anywhere...but i still plan on using some kind of epoxy to stick corals onto my rocks and stuff..if I ever have to move the aquarium i will probably expoxy all the rocks to place..but i would like to move in a few years...so as long as i'm confident the rocks arent gonna move then i guess im all clear then :)

I CANT WAIT...2 more weeks and my Regal Tang and Naso Tang, and can be moved to the display! I think their colors will really make my tank POP! for not they are in the 55g QT
