ok so yall know by now that i keep changing my mind on the fish that i want to stock my tank. I know for sure that i will be adding the red velvet fairy wrasse, and i currently have two b & w clowns. I was really wanting an angel earlier but have decided to just not bother them as it's not worth the worry. So here's what i'm thinking. Tonight i looked at my lfs' website, they are selling the blue spotted jawfish for $60 where liveaquara sells for $130 i REALLY love the looks of this fish. The other fish that i LOVE is the helfrich's firefish goby for $130 where most places online sell them for close to $200. What should i do, the bsj is at an amazing price compared to the online dealers, but i love the hf's firefish, would it be possible to get both of these fish? Of course i wouldn't put them in all at the same time.

Sorry for the long post, i'm just being really picky on what fish i add to my tank because i only have so much space and don't want to end up with a fish i regret. Hence why i've been searching like crazy ;D

60 bucks for that jawfish is a smokin' deal. If you want one, buy it.

i don't have the money right now, but i plan to go down there this weekend or next to pick up a sea urchin. I don't know if it's a sale or not but if it is, i don't want to miss out. I'm also not sure if it's to soon to add another fish without an clean up crew, and my clowns have only been in the tank for 2 1/2 weeks. I'm also low on cash, but i think that's the actual price and don't think their on sale, other wise, i think the site would say so. lol also i'm not sure if he should be added so soon, and just wait to add him last?

I would do the firefish. Keep in mind it is a jumper though, but probably easier to keep than the jawfish. Both are pretty but I would personally lean towards to the firefish. Just my 2 cents. Nice avatar by the way :wink3:

I would skip the blue spot as they prefer deep sand to make their burrows in (they're not really reef fish but tend to live in large sandy areas near the reef). They're also notorious jumpers. I've lost 2 to jumping and don't ever plan on getting another one.

Both fish are jumpers so have a lid or egg crate on the tank if you decide to get either (although once the jawfish is settled the chance of jumping is slim to none IMO).

A bluespot for $60??? This is a no brainer but make sure you have a few deep areas of sand and a few snail shells (small and medium sized) for it to make it's burrow. I would go for that first and if you want a firefish I would get a regular type or a purple to start especially if you haven't owned one before. They can be timid and hide a lot if bullied although in your tank it sounds like one should be fine but then again you never know so start cheap.

Go for the bluespot!!! You won't be disappointed!!! :)
