Ok so i REALLY need to rethink my fish selection

haha beacause their both important parts of a reef you have to get the perfect fit otherwise your screwed

 

I'd get 2 purple firefish. If they're in a store display tank together they would be fine.

 

With firefish, if introduced at the same time they may get along fine BUT not always! You may have one intimidating the other all the time (has happened to me before and wound up having to catch one to go back to LFS).

If you can, get a mated pair or if you want to give it a try, get one regular firefish and one purple - this has worked for me in the past with no issues.

 

+1 In a tank as small as yours, you will have to have a mated pair if you want two firefish to get along.

 

hello all! new to forum- little about me: I have a 180 gallon reef with fish....previously a predator tank untill outbreak of tank consuming colerpa nullameria....removed preds replaced with coral beauty(3 in), spot foxface(3 in), scribbled rabbitfish (4 in), and a yellow tang (3 in)....lots of hermits from red legs to blue legs, larger turbos, a few tiny sand sifter stars, 3 1/2 in live sand and about 90 lbs of live/highly deco rock with clams and natural plants....main ?'s are: I put these fish in to control collerpa not expecting them to wipe it out (about 3 gallons) in 36 hours, not long, might have been underfed durring store hold or shipping but seems insatiable! what else can i feed them seems like the fox is after my corals by in a shy ninja type of of way! any help will be greatly appreciated....especially if it is store bought but fresh not frozen prepacked.....thanks abunch!

Puffer, Id definately go with a purple fire fish. They're so cool and they way their little fins twitch is so cute/funny.
