I got some big black snail's with my cuc from John a while back and yesterday I added what look's like a green tree coral except the trunk is gray in color and the polyp's are brown. What it is I havent a clue. The three large ones ar about 2 1/2 inches in heighth...I looked at them just now and one of these big snails was on top of one of the trees and after I gently removed I noted the tree was only about 1/2 inch in heighth...Can the tree recess this far in or has the snail eaten him. I have all the large snails setting here on the desk wondering what they did wrong. Please fill me in on this. I will put the snails in a jug till I hear from you pros...please help...thnx

If there was algae on your "tree" I am 95% positive he was after that. And yes, corals expel and suck in water whenever they fell threatened.

We all have to start somewhere, google "Kenya Tree" or "colt coral" and tell me what you think.

The lady at the store finally started liking me and th eowner is in the hospital and I got a rock about 3 pound's and three nice Kenya trees and one other that is only about an 1/8th of an inch tall and the big one seems to be splitting or he just has another tree sharing his foot, and I got a Flame Scallop which I didnt really want but it was all in a bundle for under 10 bux....Do they split? Or go asexual or whatever it is called?

The kenya tree's? They drop buds. You will soon be tearing it out of your tank manually, cursing the day you bought it ;)

How do I take one off of the rock and move it elsewhere?

With a kenya tree you can just use you fingers to pinch the base....then either rubber band the stalk to the rock of your choice or drive a toothpick through it and lodge that in the rock. Wait a week and remove the rubberband or the toothpick (I have had success with just a three day attachment period). This works with both Kenya trees and Xenia.
