    i have some old pieces of LR id like to put back in my system. doing this will i have a mini cycle or will i be ok? its just a few small pieces that id prob would put in my sump or cannister filter.

    If it wasn't properly cleaned and sterilized when it was pulled out, I'd suggest curing it in a separate container before introducing it into an existing system.

    Depends on how much organic matter is in the rocks. Place them in a bucket of fresh-mixed SW with a small powerhead, put it in a dark place for a week, then test for ammonia. If ammonia is absolute zero, you're good; otherwise, you'll need to wait for the cycle to complete, same as cycling a tank.
