old VHO ballast??

    ok so i got a bunch of saltwater aq. supplies from my neighbor down the road and he gave me a coralife 2 lamp ballast, the end caps are 1 1/4 inch in diameter so im guessing VHO. i tried it with 2 40 watt t12 bulbs and they worked. i just dont know what wattage or even the type of bulb to put in.

    Coralife made(makes?) an electronic T12 ballast. It's not a VHO ballast, it just runs standard bulbs. There is a good chance that is what it is. They used them a lot on FOWLR tanks back in the day.

    yea i think you may be right because the guy said he only had a fowler system, o well it will make a good undertank light like where the sump is thanks man
