    i had one that ate flake the first day I brought him home. The female of the pair though only ate live pods, funny fish...

    I am interested in one of these. How long did it take for them to start eating other foods?? Did you start them off with pods first?? How long have your tanks been running?

    can you post a pic of an olive mandarin? I've never heard of one before and can't find any info on them. no one in any of my several lfs' have heard of them before. thanks

    i think he is referring to the green spotted mandarin. they have an olive colored body. they are easier to wean to prepared foods then other mandarins, but not so easy that you should risk getting one if you dont have an adequate pod population.

    there also known as psychedelic mandarins and mine just randomly started, hes in a tank with seahorses if you look at my albums theres a picture of mine in there

    why in god's name would you get a spotted mandarin? they'res a prettier one for a reason. enjoy the dragonets! I bet coldshot's 50 mandarins have died by now maybe someone should link him to this before he goes killing innocent pescados!
