what is the difference between the two? Is one easier to keep than the other? I have tried zoos like 2-3 x and they just disapear. So I'm wondering if palythoas might be easier?

I'm not a pro on the subject in question but from what I have read, Palys are usually a little bigger than zoas and tend to have longer skirts than zoas. The care for both is about the same. Correct me if I'm wrong guys/gals!

I would agree with you offenstaken.

They do seem to be generally larger.

And another observation of mine: at least for what is available to us in the hobby (not necessarily what exists in nature) there seem to be a larger variety of zoa species than paly species.

Also, each paly polyp will have it's own distinct stalk, whereas zoas tend to grow in a continuous mat.

Great Point, there does seem to be a much larger variety with zoas and their coloring is more vibrant and brighter IMO. I like zoas much more than most palys.

The skirt is the frilly tentacles that stick out around the sides!

Thanks, it felt like I was back in school and I think I hurt my brain. :-/ I think I got the jist of what he was saying.

I think I'm gonna try them again. NOw that I have a little more experience. I don't know, I feel bad if they die. It's not like they're a flower, they're little critters.

I'll keep thinking and looking and reading and asking questions.:)
