:eek:Alright another mysterious case of "I don't know what the heck this thing is in my tank and I don't trust anything so I'm going to ask the cool people on 3reef". But this time it moves...

Looks like some type of nudibranch to me... I would attach a video but the uploader won't let me...

    You nailed it.

Unfortunately you probably have to remove it if you have Zoanthids or soft corals.

What new piece have you added lately?

Nudibranch very often look like what the eat.

Here's a couple more pictures that may be easier to see...

By the way in two of the photos you may see some legs sticking out of the upper part of the picture... I believe that is a brittle starfish and he has friends... Lots of them.

They all came on a piece of live rock(also the suspected home of our mystery man) that I picked up the other day with a Kenya Tree on it and I didn't see the starfish until i got home... There are at least 5 of them and they are tiny. Ive heard mixed reviews on them so I'll keep an eye on them and make sure they do not get too big unless any of you have a different opinion...

    The brittles are fine.

Yeah unfortunately I would get rid of the nudibranch and I really hate to say that. The only comfort is that they are very specialized eaters and short lived over all. Without their specific food they usually do not last long.

You will have to keep a good eye out for others. If you see more you will have to inspect your zoanthids for eggs.

FWIW, it doesn't look like the typical zoa eating nudi. However, that doesn't mean it's something you should keep around.

I had a zoa eating nudi one time, laid eggs on the purple carpet. I removed the zoas and inspected the frag and removed the eggs. The nudi itself looked awesome, just like my green and yellow zoas, but he had to go.
