i have a small chromis that is dead in my tank and im wondering if I should pull it out or let my cuc take care of it
65 gal with 135lb of live rock
    large cuc from reef cleaners
    20+ hermits
    3 emeralds
    nassarius snails galore

the tank is very stable at this point but im just not sure what to do...if it was in an easy part of the tank to get to then id just yank it but id have to remove 80% of my rock to get to it...it was about 2'' or smaller.

Leave it if you can not easily get to it.

Your CuC will take care of it fairly quickly.

I had a fish die in my tank and it was all eaten within 5 hours. So I would not worry to much.

this makes me worry a lot less about excess flakes and food that do not get eaten and settle against rocks or make it to my fuge. i always worried they would leach too much ammonia, but if a dead fish can be left in a tank then i would assume excess food is not much of an issue(especially in small amounts)

i always felt like live-rock and sand with a good CuC is all the natural filtration a tank would need.

sorry you lost your fishie, hope it does not lead to future health problems for your other guys

I'm sure it took more time to type the message than for the fish to be assimilated.
