    Since this guy has been unidentified since I got the tank.. Let's try now that there's some life, and color!

    Now my money is on some kind of montipora, since it looks like a plate. Whatcha think erry body?

    Oh and I stand by Pavona, but I will look around.

    Edit: Stick a small frag close to it, if it kills it, it's Pavona.

    Look like it could be a plating hydnophora to me. They seem to encrust/plate at the same time like that.

    Hydnos do not have that even polyp look though. I am thinking pavona as well, in the end we need a closer pics. It might be psmmmacora too but I'm leaning towards pavona.

    It's a tough cookie to crack, after looking closer at the poylps, you're definitely right, not a hydnophora. Keep growth shots and lets see if those bumps become mounds,.

    I love corals... so many forms they can take that even ones of the same genus can looks so radically different. Especially if you can't closely observe the polyps.
