    Hello,

I am wanting to DIY a sump/refugium for my 110. I have a 29g and a 10g laying around. I have read of people connecting them together to achieve what one, bigger unit would do. I have searched on here as well as Ye Olde Google to no avail.

What I am wanting is some pictures of the plumbing between the two and possibly back up to the DT. I can figure out how to move the water up and down, but I would like to see examples on how to circulate it "downstairs".

    Help....

I did something similar, but on a smaller scale..
I have a 10 gallon sump and a ~3 gallon fuge.. the fuge is raised above the sump and is drilled so that it drains via gravity to the sump return and back to the tank.. it works great for me..
*on a side note, disregard my params written on my fuge, they got out of whack last week after some dosing miscalcs.. they are back on now..

Yep, use some bulkheads and it can be done.

Be careful though, drilling 10g's, I don't know of anyone that has successfully drilled one.

I have drilled 3.. its just a very very slow process.. it took about 25-30 min of barely drilling for each tank.. no breaks yet..

I used to have something similar with a 10 gallon, its possible to drill 10 gallons, granted I broke 2 before the third one was successful.

Heres what I have currently, 2-20 gallon highs plumbed together with 2-1inch bulkheads.

I have a couple of videos on youtube that show better detail. search eggerstout
