    Hello to All,

Although I was hoping my next update on here would be a lot farther along, life and all that goes with it decided that my tank project was not moving slowly enough so it tossed me a few rogue waves to deal with. Anyways, here is what I can offer as an update.

Early in May, many of you saw my other thread about the deli sliced reef rock and my plans for aquascaping this new tank....the momentum was humming along quite nicely. My next step was to take an enjoyable roadtrip to visit Tangster and amcarrig in CT over the weekend of 5/22/10. Tangster was awesome enough to drill both my DT and my sump tank. I got to see their gorgeous tank up close and personal and it is stunning :) We also had a chance to kick back and just enjoy some laughs - i LOVE meeting new people, and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Tangster also hooked me up with a beautiful new pump and he designed and built a very cool pvc manifold assembly which I will be able to link my skimmer and various reactors to so that the one pump runs everything. Tangster had helped Otty (from these forums) with one of these and i suspect other 3reefers have similar setups as well as Tangster is one helluva generous and helpful guy with a lot of knowledge to share. (He can also tell hilarious stories like nobody's business!) He explained a lot of the "scarier" plumbing issues to me and explained what else I would need to gather together to finalize the piping.

I was all excited and prepared to set this new stuff up over Memorial Day weekend and start leak testing etc....the existing tank was going to be relocated and I was going to start a bit of a fresh cycle in the new tank. However, having gotten the lease expiration notice on our current place and seeing how much they were going to jack the rent changed everything. Instead I spent a 24 hour period viewing new places and settled on a new one instead of putting the new tank together.

Needless to say, the daughter and I actually spent much of last weekend packing instead (and have been packing every night this past week - UGH). It is looking like we will be able to start moving things the end of next week or as of that weekend. My new tank and all that goes with it is the FIRST truck load being hauled over!!! I want to set it up and get it cycling while we finish the move.

Frankly, the boxes can sit for a while once we move them over - i just want the tank up and running! Then I can hopefully provide you with some proper updates including pics!

In the meantime, I will lurk around and enjoy everyone else's threads when I have the energy enough to remain upright to operate the mouse and keyboard...

    thanks for the patience!

thanks so much - as i said, the glass box will be set up before i unpack the cardboard boxes...our entire living room and half the dining area are nothing but tank related stuff. It is all staged and ready to go.

    **sigh**

I will be glad when things slow down....even just a little bit!

Wow! Talk about a quick change in plans. Was great meeting you and I hope that we can make a trip out to visit you in the near future. Please tell me that you've got a good Indian restaurant nearby? :)

Hey lady! I don't know how I missed the big move and sudden bump in your plans considering I live here but I did and I'm sorry. I hope you got moved and are getting settled in. I laughed when you said the tank was first! Sounds like something I'd do myself. Boxes to unpack? Meh..I've got a tank to get cooking. LOL
