Hello, Noticed two weeks ago along side some mushrooms a new hitchiker. Tonight I noticed six more! I'm hoping they are okay in my set up. Tried taking pics but all are in bad spots. They're smaller than a dime so far and are transparent. Each is round and as flat as a dime with i'm guessing 20 little arms sticking out the side like a polyp. It looks like small balls on the ends of each arm. Each is on its own.

Any ideas? I'll keep trying for pics, I know it's tough without them!

    Thanks

Well it is similar in shape but it's almost all clear. Any pics of the ball tip are brown in the centre? Maybe they develop the colour later?

ball tips will develop the brown color as they grow, could be them or perhaps mojanos they have balls on the tips as well, either or they multiply fairly quickly(as you already noticed) and can bequite the nuisance. Think of aptasia only with ball tips. I have found that the aptasia x works on these guys as well as aptasia nems. The sooner you start to get rid of them the better.

Start getting rid of them much sooner rather than later otherwise they will completely take over. And the worst thing that you can do is to manually pull them off the rock. Doing this will cause them to release their spores drastically increasing their numbers.

+1 Sounds like Mojanos to me as well. Do not smash one or you will have hundreds. Joes juice works well but there are a few different ways to kill them. The sooner the better.;)

I think I'll try blocking out the light source by placing a small piece of LR above it. Maybe it will move ontop of the rock to be in contact with the light and then I can pull that piece!!! Might be crazy but if it works, then all will be easy
