I got him a few days ago and had a problem with NO3 and Ammonia for a little bit then got it under control. He was just hanging out in random corners at the top of the tank and he'd eat pellets I'd drop in front of him.

This morning I found him at his usual sleep spot in the back amogst some hoses and usually after a little while he is awake and swimming around, usually bouncing around the front glass. Today he made his move from the sleep corner down to the bottom right corner area and hasn't moved from there since. Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him he's just hanging out there. I tried to feed him but he ignored the pellets after tasting the first one.

I'm going to leave him be for the rest of the day and see how he's doing tomorrow, I'm just worried because yesterday he didnt really go anywhere near the bottom and now he's just bobbing around the same 6 cubic inch area.

    Should I be worried?

Right now, no, but it it persists for a day or more then yes. It could be an effect of the ammonia. I had a clown do this and he died shortly there after.

Yeah I don't know what his deal is. I turned the moon light on tonight and the regular lights off and he starts swimming all over the tank like normal, active as can be. I don't know if he's doing drugs or what but he is probably the oddest fish I've ever had.

    Sounds like acclimation issues.

Yeah, you are probably right. He had stopped eating, but today I took a different approach. I have the small pellets but he just seemed to peck at them and let them fall to the floor for the hermits to battle over. Today I smashed them up and pinched some between my fingers and suprisingly he pecked a little at my fingers then would run away. Little by litle he realized I wasn't going to hurt him and thats where food was coming from and he finally started eating. I guess even the small pellets were to big for him to want. I'm happy :) He seems to be happy and he's swimming around his half of the tank. Total flip from yesterday.

Naw, I don't have strong enough lighting or an established enough tank yet for one.

Just for piece of mind, I'd go ahead and hit the tank with some PRIME considering you said you had a Nitrate problem before.

Haha oh, I'm dominating the tank with PRIME right now. I'm adding the recommended dose for at least the next couple of weeks. At that point I'll see if the macro's I have in there won't have made any sort of impact on their own.
