So, like I said I was going to do, I moved, and am pretty much settled in. I want to get my tank up and running again, but money is a little bit tight right now, and in addition to that, I am having some problems. I REALLY don't want to have to throw out my rock, so someone please help me out with this.

My rock has mold on it. I had shipped it in a Styrofoam container, and did not forsee this happing, though I guess I should have. I really am not sure exactly what I should do, but I was thinking about filling up the sink with water, throwing bleach in it, and soaking the rocks. Would that be enough? I've also got mold growing on the inside of my tank (it's small right now, so I want to get this worked out quick) and for that I was thinking a lemon quat solution, but again, I'm really not sure.

Oh, right, the main point of this thread: Hey, I'm back!

Good to be back isn't it !

If you bleach it, it won't be live rock.....I'm sure you understand that though. It would be the safest way to get rid of all bad stuff though not sure if it would leach out into tank later on. I've also read where people are "cooking" rocks. You can find info in threads on this site. If not bad could always take toothbrush to it in saltwater.

Not sure if you plan on using rocks soon, or you just want to store them for later. You could always add livesand or a couple of pieces to seed you "base rock" if you do cook them. I wouldn't add bleach to tank. I'd do a good scrubbing of vinegar and water. You know that wont' kill anything later on. Bleach isn't good for silicone anyway and not sure if would leach out later on. Not worth the risk to me.

Soak the rock with a solution of water and bleach for a day or two. Wash it off and soak it in a solution of Baking soda and water for a few days. Rinse it off and soak it in some fresh water and you should be good to go. As for the tank, water and vinegar work well.
