    Hey Everyone,

I have finally begun to move my fish/ inverts/ corals from my 24g aquapod and 30g standard to my 46g bowfront build.

I will be selling the 24g, but I want to do something cool with the 30g. I know that a lot of people do frag tanks and stuff like that, but while I like corals and have seen some AMAZING tanks with beautiful corals, I prefer fish/ inverts.

Anyone have any ideas for a cool tank?

My tank already has the following, but would be willing to modify slightly to fit if needed (no sumps though):

    • 30g tank
    • 30" Dual HO T5- 10,000K and 460nm Actinic
    • Tunze 9002 Skimmer
    • HOB Aquaclear filter
    • 30 lbs LR
    • 1" sand bed

Mantis tank FTW! 30 is a good size for a peacock mantis & a couple fish. I have a 29g standard size I will consider complete at the moment with a 5" or so mantis, flame angel, six line, blue reef chromis & chalk bass. Having said that keep in mind not all mantis (peacocks included) are always fish friendly.

She is by far the most entertaining and interactive tank occupant I have, and always an eye catcher to me & everyone who has seen her.

You already have everything needed easily with the exception of a couple more inches of sand.

I don't know, what kind of fish/inverts do you like?
    some ideas:

    - Lobster tank

    - mini-carpet anemone tank

    - anemone/clown only tank

    - small ugly/venomous fish tank

    - mantis tank

    etc...

It's funny, I considered both the lobster or mantis options, but I think I would prefer a cool fish tank. I know the 30 gallons is somewhat limiting, but I like the idea of fish that are very unique looking or have very unique behaviors.

If I can't find any fish for my "needs" I will revert to a mantis tank as i have heard they are very cool. I'm also going to stay away from anemones since they don't really have a "personality" and I have a mated pair of ocellaris in my 46g reef

Any thoughts on what ugly/ poisonous fish might work?
