    I have had this open brain for about 6 months. In this 6 month period almost all of the green has faided away and it is now completly a pinkish color. It still seems to be very healthy and I feed it 2 sometimes 3 nights a week. I get full pulip extension every night and it seems to still be growing. At the lfs it was under 4 48" vho lights and now it is under my 2 led fixtures and 2 t5 ho 36" lamps. All of my other corals have great color and growth and seem to be doing great.
    My water parameters are as follows.
    cal= 425
    sal=1.025
    alk=9.8 dkh
    ph=8.26
    mag=1460
    nitrate, nitrite, phosphate=0
    temp=78.5 deg f
    amm=0

    Everything looks good...I have the same critter...I found that it is much happier up on a rock...and not in the sand...JMO...but you might try it.
    Good luck.

    do you think it is possible that it may be getting too much light?

    You may find that changing lighting conditions sometimes changes the color of many soft corals. The color in soft corals is based on light gathering microorganisms inside the coral in a symbiotic relationship. Changing light can change a whole lot of stuff inside the coral.

    Personally, I would be a touch worried. Most healthy corals of the type you describe are greenish or reddish like you describe, with mottled areas of other colors. Intuitively, I would worry that your coral is down to one last type of light gathering microorganism (pink in color) that's left hanging on to life inside your coral.

    My gut feeling agrees with Kracer, too much light?

    But, I'd also be worried about adding more stress moving it again? If it were me, I'd leave it where it is for the best chance of survival and get $75 ready just in case. Put the new coral farther down.

    I tend to be way overly paranoid. If image 144 is the most recent image, it looks pretty normal and healthy to me. Probably just a rebalancing after the light change. No big deal?

    Personally, if it were me, based on what I'm reading, I'd leave it alone and give it a chance to adjust without added stress. Just me. I'm not married to my opinion and learn lots of new stuff (sometimes painfully) everyday. :)

    after 6mths I would think it would have addapted to its light source.
    mine lost all its colour to white and now its back to its original colour ive had it for over 2 years and only in the last month have i ever seen it extend its polyps
    some times a coral can be a stubborn thing

    Is it possible that this is the coloring that it is going to have under my lighting and there is nothing at all wrong with it.
