Does anyone have any experience in opening a LFS? I am seriously considering starting a Saltwater speciality store, I also want to get into maintaining customers tanks if the need arises. I was wandering if anyone has successfully done this and can offer any help getting started.

Thanks guys I got a lot more replies than I thought I would, I am in Bluefield WV. We have one store with potential but the owner is the only who works there and has gotten a lot of bunk info from his "distributor". He has seriously not done a water change on his "reef" for well over two years, at the advice of his distributor. He tries to sell brown polyps and a few shrooms and kills every leather he gets in, then says there is no market to support doing many corals etc.

Love Elite Reef. It's my LFS even though I have 2 that are much closer but nowhere near the quality of coral or livestock.
