My wife and daughter ;D. She just got back from her vacation, maybe I will just tell her I ordered them to see how she reacts. If she doesnt get upset then I will really order them, who knows she is in a pretty good mood, all huggie and kissie after not seeing me for a while, maybe I can get some other stuff too.

What lighting do you have now (watts/gallon?)

Can you transfer over the light from the 55, or will it just not fit at all?

If you have a top for the tank, you can throw the smaller light on... I use my 29" light from my old 30 as additional lighting for my 55 in this manner.

With light and water, its not as important to think of volume of water, as is the depth of the water from light source.

IE, you might be doubling your water amount in gallons, but its only 4" more depth from light...

IF your current lighting will fit the 100 tank at all, just run the 100 gallon about 2 inches less water than full, and you'll only add 2" to your depth from your 55 tank.

Given that, if you have a good light now, and do as described, you might be able to get by for a few months until you can upgrade.

Either way, get water/salt/movement/sand (even if only a cupfull from your 55) into that 100 gallon now to get a cycle started!

I would start the cycle...add the salt water, live rock and a couple pieces of shrimp and get the tank running...

P.s...dinner and flowers work all the time for me...:)
