personally i loved my t5 fixture. the bulbs are bad but the fixture, timer, and build is pretty dencent. the led moonlights though were terrible on mine. they crapped out on me in a month and now i only have 1 out of 4 working. but pretty decent fiture

for the money its a decent deal(since its dirt cheap), but you don't get the performance of most other brands.

I own both a light fixture and a protein skimmer. I heard all the fire stories with the fixture but I don't know if I was one of the lucky ones or they improved their products. I do have to say the skimmer is a beast.

Its not Droid, it's me fishies.

you get what you pay for... the fixture is okay but the ballasts underpower bulbs. If you buy the halide ones, the bulbs that come with them are so bad that i wouldnt even use them if i was being paid to do so.

bottom line is that you can get something nicer but you will also pay more... even after you replace all the ballasts and bulbs on the odyssey fixtures you come out less expensive.

I have the Odyssea 2 x 250 watt halides with 2-96 watt actinics. I run the 15k bulb from them w\ Icecap ballasts. The halide bulbs light real well with the ballasts. The bulbs seemed to fade in color too fast. I had the same experience with the PC bulbs. I was buying the bulbs from Aquatraders cause they were so cheap but after fighting algae decided to spend the dough on good actinincs and bought some UV lighting bulbs from ReefGeek. The difference was huge! The corals just glowed better than they ever did with the cheap bulbs. If you do go with the cheaper bulbs I would just be prepared to change them more often.

My opinion on the bulbs is they work. For the price i love my 48" T5 fixture. However when it is time to change out my bulbs I will not stick with oddysea.

Personally I think that their fixtures are great, never had any issues with the ballasts under driving the bulbs or anything. I have 2 - 48" and 1 - 36" T5 fixtures and 1 - 24"' MH/T5 fixture.

As far as the bulbs go, I think you would be better off spending your money elsewhere. For the same amount maybe even a little less you can get Wave Point bulbs which I have in two of my fixtures.
