Hey guys I was looking for any opinions on this tank I am looking to pick up. It is a used 135 gal tank it is a euro braced tank (not sure what this means) with a double glass bottom. Has a built in overflow is drilled for a closed loop plus a clean looking oak stand for $350.

Does this sound like a good deal to anyone? Not sure what the brand is our how much a tank with these features plus a stand would normally go for.

Unfortunately I don't know the person, it's from a guy on craigslist that sales all types of used aquariums and equip.

Any idea how much a tank like this would go for new?

A eurobrace is a trim ring around the top that holds the tank together better than a standard trim. Somewhere around an inch or two in width.

A normal 135 would cost me about 600 around here new. If there are no scratches, then that would be a good price.

Edit: When I say normal, that is tank only, no overflows

Not sure about the double glass bottom. Did the original piece crack, and the added another on top?

Either way, it is worth a look. I would want to see it sitting with water first. You might want to take a copper test kit with you as well.

It sounds good to me, but you would not know if the tank leaks.

Will definitely check for leaks before buying, might also pick up a copper test kit now that it was mentioned. I also attached a pick of the tank if anyone is interested :) Thanks for the replies everyone.

I really like the look of that a lot. The depth will give you great aquascape options.

I totally agree. I went and took a look and it and everything checks out! This is actually a custom built tank so the dimensions are definitely not typical, I believe it is 54 x 24 x 24. So I'm going to pick this up tomorrow along with a 60 gallon sump 2 lg3 pumps and all the plumbing. I think I'll be starting a build thread soon ;D

That would make a great start for getting a system up and running. I purchased my tank off CL as well, no regrets.

    Good luck.
