Opinions on MH reflector...

    Got new reflectors for my tank... any opinions on the reflector?

    Approx 16" wide and 12" long

    the only reason I wouldn't like those is you lose a lot of light out of the sides. I like for my reflectors to be tall enough that all of the light coming out of the side is reflected too.

    I actually re-bent them a bit. In the photo it's approx. 3" or less in height, it is now 5" in height, so I should recover alot of that lost light. My canopy is painted a semi-gloss white(kitchen/bath paint), so that should help keep alot of the light in the tank as well.

    Certainly seems that way.
    Thanks for all the replies so far. Keep them coming.

    I certainly can't complain for $30, but if anyone sees any major set backs, i'd like to know!

    I'll tell you that I had some of the shorter reflectors in my canopy and switched them out with some pfo spiders. (pretty much the same but taller) After I made the change, I was forced to cut my light cycle in half and put a piece of glass between lights and tank. I was frying everything. stuff is starting to come back now tho
