hey i was wondering what you guys think of this deal for my tank.. its a 6' tank that is 20 in deep. i only have lps.

    Craigslist...
Coralife HQI/PC/Moonlight combo. 72" (actually a little shorter so it can fit in 6' canopies) retrofit with 3 x 150 watt halides, 4 x 96 watt power compacts, and four moonlights. This fixture sold for $1200 when it was new. The ONLY thing wrong with it is the PC clips are a little rusty. Those can be replaced for $1 each if you can't live with them that way. No rust anywhere else. The ballasts are immaculate. It is a little dirty in the pics but I have cleaned it up since then. $150

How old are the bulbs? If it is in working order than cool. I like fixtures that combine T5 and metal halide.

for that price get it and use it for a diy if you really want your t5s instead of pc, but if you ask me I don't see the need for extra powerful supplemental light. It's supplemental and as far as I knew mainly for color.

I like PC if you are not going hard core, sps. And if you want to add some higher demand sps just put them up top. Personally I like both the Phoenix 14k and the Radium 20k for the metal halide, makes the corals pop.
