Going to upgrade so that I have all options on my coral life.

Would just like opinions on the couple of units shown linked below.

It's a 20g tank, think the first one will be overkill but like the fitting.

Second one is probably ok but not liking the unadjustable height factor.

The first one is more 'tweakable' from a lighting point of view, what do you think?

    First, second or neither!

Since you asked, I'm gonna be frank.

You can pretty much assume any non-brand ebay fixture is a steaming pile of junk.

Spend a little more and get an ATI or Tek brand unit.

Trying to save some coin now will cost you more in the long run.

    OR

With the recent advances in LED lighting, I suggest you strongly consider LED's

How about one of these? http://www.3reef.com/forums/orphek-led-lighting/pr-25s-now-available-107417.html For a 20 gallon, one would be plenty.

Where are you located? If not in the EU, the S & H may cost more than it's worth. Both are in the same location, BTW.

    Thanks for the replies,

I am UK based and that is part of the problem, nothing is really available here.

Having spent the last few days searching it is clear that my options are limited.

The only major difference seems to be the quality of the bulbs, which I can buy here.

We get nothing here I'm afraid and the shipping from your part of the world is too heavy to warrant the purchase.

EDIT: I have found some stock of the ORPHEK and am now looking into it but a 'chat' with a supplier suggested that the 'technology just isn't there yet'. opinions?

Either will work fine but the 6 bulb is overkill.

I think the white LED need to be a much higher Kelvin temperature than currently offered before using one. I would like to see the rating at 12000K.
