Well I am considering getting 2 of these for my 75 gallon reef.

    reefbreeders

These were recommended by Cosmo. My question is if this will be enough for even hard corals. Also do I leave all of the lights on or do I just put certain ones on at certain times.
Also what are the advantages of having an LED with multiple colors such as this one also recommended by Cosmo.

    reefbreeders

I want to fully understand what exactly I should be looking for in a light. These both seem good and affordable. I would prefer getting two of the first one.

I also would like to get this for my refugium to fully prevent my macros from going sexual.

    reefbreeders

Im sure this sounds very cheap but could I get two different lights and have a powerful LED on one side of the tank for hard corals and a less powerful LED on the other side of the tank for soft corals?

Believe it or not, a lot of soft corals actually prefer higher lighting. So I would not. Plus that would limit you on what you could put on the other side, and it would look a little weird. Also, really think about your coral plans before adding any soft corals. They can become a nuisance, both in terms of growing too fast, and releasing chemicals that may harm LPS/SPS corals.

I want to get the lighting and then have a general over view of all of my possibilities and then I will probably start a thread on stocking corals. But do you feel as though that first light is powerful enough?

Well for reference I have a 4' long 60 watt fixture with 20 3W Cree LED's (10 daylights, and 10 actinics) on my 55. I have had some good growth (subjective of course) on all of my corals, which include softies, Zoas, & LPS (favia & frogspawn).

So I would say you that would be more than enough for SPS/clams if you get 2.

Ok sounds good. We are both on the same page and talking about the first one right?

I would do 2 x the first one. Wow LEDs have gotten inexpensive in the past couple of years.

I have the first option, with no optics, 10 inches above my waterline. The optics may prevent light from getting to the perimeter of the tank, so keep that in mind. I would talk with Logan at Reef Breeders and get his thoughts.
