opps sorry i forgot to say i use kent marine kalkwasser for the calcium,b-ionic magnesium, and seachem reef builder raises carbonate alkalinity.i now see new growth on all my sps and everything looks better accept my open brain in shrunk.every night it opens to eat and then closes and shrinks all day.color is fine and no skeleton is showing.maybe i need new bulbs.in the mean time i'll keep adjusting closer to the numbers you all gave me

idk yet cause i just brought the magnesium up so it would stop eatting up the alkalinty.i was adding one and a half tsp of seachem reef builder a day in.i should now only need it once or twice a wk.it's alreaddy maintaining now for 2 days but i want to raise it a little more,up to 8.i won't know the consumption rate of anything till i get everything where i want it and have time to see what happens with testing over time.you have a nice mixed reef.how old is it?

man did i ever mess those tests up lol.that red sea test is no good and i did the salivert wrong.jason at under the sea explained it all and i'm back on track.the alkalinity was actually around 15.2dkh or 5.30meq/L .i'm doing a 25% water change.and i'm switching to kent marine turbo-calcium for calcium cause it won't raise my alkalinity like the kalkwasser does.
