I am thinking about an ORA blue mandarin and was wondering if anybody had any info for me like food or special care. My tank inhabitants are all peacful in my 29. I have 40lbs of live rock and i feed my carnivorous wrasse and clownfish cyclopeeze and mysis.:-/

The ORA mandarins are suppose to accept prepared foods...I've seen some research that suggests mandarins still need some live food in their diet even if they eat prepared foods well. I would be a little concerned about how much live food you can provide in a smaller tank...especially since the wrasse will out-compete the mandarin for food most of the time.

I had one and it wouldn't eat any prepared food, however, some are eating prepared food well. But mandarins still need live food in their diet to get proper nutrients so they don't become malnourished. You would have to spend a lot of money to keep your tank stocked in pods, as a mandarin would wipe out pods in that size of tank in no time.
