Ok so I got the frag yesterday. It looked good and all until I decided to mess with it today. The plug it came on was nearly completely covered, but I wanted to get the frag plug stem off so I could glue it down. I tried to get the stem off and the frag itself popped off leaving the encrusted part still on the plug. So I quickly glued down the frag and placed it in the tank. The encrusted plug is in the tank as well. The polyps are just now coming out. So will they be fine? Should the encrusted plug grow as well? I just don't want it to die cuz it's so nice. I will have to post pics when it's happier

That's what's called an "accidental frag". LOL

Both will be fine provided good water quality and lighting

Ok great. How long should I expect for the frag to encrust again?

Red Planet in the title and no images!!!!!

This should be outlawed...... lol :)

And yes you now have more for your money. The encrusted plug will grow just fine given the proper conditions.

I use a pair or crimping pliers to cut the stems off. Hold the frag by the disc, and cut as close as you can...don't have to put much pressure on the stem for it to snap.

I've had frags snap due to the shock load from doing this, but I was using side-cutters.

Anymore I don't mess around, and just take out the dremel. Makes quick work of that plug. ;D
