It is a dry heat, yeah right !

If you have no PE I would improve flow, they like a lot of flow. Also consider red bugs, dipping in ReVive is probably a good start, but look for red bugs to fall off. If it is red bugs you may have to treat with interceptor.

Thank you for the compliment and good luck. :)

    Hmm

Well they do have red heads. I will post an image of one. I would thing if you have them you would see them on the garf more easily. The RP looks a little stress but not too bad.

If you take a macro shot, edit it and blow it up so you can see the skin of the acropora.

Let me find an image of the red bugs. Should not take too long I have enough.

Red bugs like smooth skin corals over the rough skinned ones so they are easier to see. This is why I would expect to see them on the garf.

If the RP does not improve try different placement, if directly under the light move it off a little or down.

I will assume all parameters are in check.

Oh and the garf looks nice, congrats.

Hey corailline! I think I remember reading that you have a Pocillopora. I bought one about a week ago and the first 2 days it had a little PE, I mean little bitty, now there's none. I've tried a couple different spots. Where's yours like to be? In respect to light and right in front of flow or no?

    Hey anb. :)

Mod to high flow, the higher the flow the better the PE as long it's not directly in front of the flow. They are very tolerant of different light levels, more intense lighting brighter colors, lower down under less intense, they turn brown.

Hope that helps, and as always parameters in line. Oh and they do close at night.

Also, all the usual params are in check. I have it 15-17in under a 250W MH and directly in front of my return so it has a lot of water moving through it... I'm stumped.

Ahh then I would move it down but keep mod flow. Put up an image if you want.

No fish nipping it like angels?

K, so maybe the flow IS the problem. I figured there'd at least be some. I'll move it further away from the return so it's not as strong. And thanks for the "they close at night" part. I'm sure I'd have asked about that later on lol.

Well, there is a coral beauty in there but I haven't seen it touch the piece at all. The very first day I had it, like mins after into to the tank, a melonarus wrasse started after it bad. She's since been removed as she was a problem before, so maybe it's recovering from that as well. I'll get a pic tomorrow. Lights out already and the ones I do have are all pretty bad.
