I have 3 majorno nems and they never split or move. I think they are pretty (if they get outta hand im thinking 'big-freaking-laser")

Well thank you very much. I try, but it's always a learning curve no matter your level of experience. :)

Yeah it's all good until you try to kill them, same with aiptasia. Someone posted on some forum along time ago that if you stress them (try to kill them) they release spores/equiv and your problem becomes a nightmare. How true that is I do not know. I feed my tank so little I find it hard to believe that available food is responsible so I have to think there is some truth to the stress theory. :-X

I have had them in my tank and have treated them with Aiptasia-X. Never saw any signs of spores let loose. They are more difficult to kill off than aiptasia. You will just need to use more stuff to kill them off.

If you keep your nutrients low they grow and spread very slowly.

Well I guess I will be doing more water testing, I do not think my nutrients could be very much. I can understand an algae feeding on nutrients like nitrates and phosphates but not anemone type species. I feed like every 3-5 day a tiny amount, same stuff I have been feeding. Time to think about nutrient exports again, dang it........::)

Yes, I have never seen an aiptasia or a majano expel anything after treating them, I just assumed that, that method of reproduction was microscopic. :)

    Not microscopic, but quite small.

i have found that its not the big ones that do the most damage, its the babys that get on the coral itself that kill the coral, and by the time they get big enough to see its to late. look to the right on the glass on the photo at that baby on the glass thats the ones that kill.

It is not on the glass; it was just released from mama.

    If that your photo Hunter?

    Hmmm interesting.

I can say I have never seen that when I treated the aiptasia, maybe I need to upgrade on the visual aids, very interesting.

Gives me chills to think that aiptasia are releasing these into my tank.
