I just had to share. This has been a goal of mine since I started sps. I wanted a tabling acropora to reach the surface. It's a good thing my new rock arrives soon, but I am going to cycle it before adding it to the tank, so I will see how and what the tip does until than. :)

Awesome! Congrats, Cheryl! You should be proud. :)

So how long have you had this particular colony?

It will be 2 years in June.

I know it's a silly goal but it is rewarding.

    Thank you Seano.:)

That is awesome to look back at the first pic you took and then see it now. That looks amazing, you should be proud.

And karma for taking such a trippy photo, that makes it all worth it

Oh Alex, it looks so ugly right now.

I promise you will be the first. :)

It sits right under the bulb about 4 inches from a new Ushio 20k 150 watts, dead center.

It's sitting on egg crate, right next to every other coral I have except the lps.

So what do you guys think will happen to the tip now?

I presume the tip will not continue to grow, while the rest of the colony will.
