Orange bubble type thingys!

    Any ideas? I have loads of them growing. They are orange with bright orange dots. They look like bubble type things. Usually one big one with smaller ones all around it.

    looks like some sort of macro algae. You can try a emerald crab and see if that helps. Emeralds do eat zoanthids though.

    It's bubble algae.....Botryocladia skottsbergii aka red valonia.

    One of the best things you can do is remove the nutrients that feeds it for a few weeks. And it will go away.

    Another thing you can do is try to remove it manually. But here's where people differ in opinions: some say dont pop them or else they will spread and others say that seeing as emerald crabs cant eat them whole, its ok to pop them. When I had them pretty bad, I tried not to pop them, but if I did, i didnt worry about it.

    +1 on algae.. I had green bubble algae.. this reminds me that I havent seen any in a while (after adding my emerald crab). Can't verify he ate them, but looks to be that way.
