Orange Mold growing on sand

    Whats up everyone. The past week I noticed some orange mold looking stuff growing on my sand. I would take a picture of it, but I can't find my digital camera. I'm thinking it might be from leftover food. I figured my snail or cleaner shrimp will eat the left over food the fish don't eat, but I guess not.

    Is there anything I can add to eat the leftover food?

    And does anyone know what the orange stuff could be?
