I have an orca 250 connected to my 250 reef tank. Its is fed by gravity from the overflow of the display and dumps into a 200g sump. The contents (inhabitansts) of the display were taken from my 90G that was running a euroreef 80. I feed more now in the big tank because of dispersion. The skimmer cup in the euroreef would contain a think skimmate, that would require emptying at least once maybe twice a week. Since I have set up the orca I have had numerous problems with overflows etc. Also the collection cup is all “crazed” it looks cracked but I cannot feel anything.
So anyway, I have setup the orca (as described online and NOT as described in the instruction manual) and there is barely any skimmate being produced. For example in the last 3 weeks I have recovered only about 2 gallons of "ice tea" colored skimmate. It seems that I cannot get a stable head of foam on in the riser tube as large bubbles come up and break it open. The surface of the foam in white, not dark brown/black liek on the euroreef.
I am now considering putting my euroreef onto my tank as the orca does not seem to be doing anything.
I have read nothing but great reports on these skimmers, I have plenty of bubbles!!!!
    Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe check the flow rate on the pump feeding the orca. Maybe too much flow and therefore you arent getting a good amount of reaction time. Maybe take a look at those bubbles too. Ive heard Bubble kings new skimmers were designed to create a larger bubble with the thought in mind bigger bubbles might skim better so they modified there bubble plate. Its not going good for bubble king and there theory right now. Maybe Orca has tried the something similar.

Im just throwing darts in the dark!

anyone esle having orca issues? ive had this thing almost a year and its a $1000 piece of ****. Reeflo support is non-existent. I would advise anyone thinking about a large skimmer to look elsewhere
