Alex was referring to the Fridmani.Neon's can be downright nasty.Damsels are great fish to add with them though as well as clowns.Other less aggressive fish are in trouble.Over time it usually gets much worse.:(
They are one of my favs along with the springeri.Such active inquisitive fish.8)

I agree with both sides here. One more fish can lead to biological overload that can turn into months of frustration and lots of expense to fix.
I have kept this fish in a community setting for years without incident. Tank mates have included rock dwelling assessors, other basslets and a breeding pair of maroon clowns.

I had a purple orchid dotty back, the biggest bullying SOB I have every come across, had to almost destroy the tank to catch him, LFS suggested pulling him out for a couple of weeks, then introducing him again at night. So 2 weeks later after a holiday in my sump, I added him back into the main tank, 2 weeks and 1 day later I destroyed my main tank again to catch him, I shamefully took him back to my LFS and popped him into one of their tanks and walked away. (That's my confession for today, I'm not proud of it, but they sold him to me and just popped him back int the tank from whence he came).

I wouldn't have another one of these "evil" purple bar stewards thrown at me for free, beware of the purple scourge.

I often think about how the shop assistant explained the additional fish in the shop ? Maybe something had a baby ? All I knew was that I was free of this purple devil and he was safely homed in the LPS from whence he came :)

    Karma.
